Holy Trinity Seminary maintains a long standing tradition of portraying the Stations of the Cross with live actors. Every year on Palm Sunday, seminarians and visitors gather to witness the fruits from weeks of preparation. Accompanied by the solemn tones of the Holy Trinity Schola, the agonies of the Way of the Cross are presented. It is an elegant performance; but it is also something much more. Praying the Way of the Cross in such a concrete way allows each person in the room to experience Christ’s sacrifice being commemorated.
For me, it was a very emotionally charged evening. I witnessed men I knew, the men I lived with, demonstrating to me the culmination of salvation history. It’s one thing to know about the cross; it’s a very different thing to watch it unfold.
Everyone is invited to join us in our journey with Christ to Mount Calvary at 7 p.m. on Palm Sunday, March the 24th, 2013.
