Holy Trinity
Seminary would like to congratulate, Bishop-elect Joseph Strickland on his
appointment Pope Benedict XVI to serve as the fourth Bishop of Tyler. Bishop-elect Strickland was ordained a priest
of the Diocese of Dallas on June 1, 1985 after having attended Holy Trinity
Seminary and graduating from the University of Dallas. He was incardinated into the Diocese of Tyler
shortly after the establishment of that diocese on February 24, 1987. Bishop-elect Strickland is the seventh
alumnus of Holy Trinity Seminary to be appointed to the episcopacy. He will be ordained a bishop on November 30,
2012 by Daniel Cardinal DiNardo in Tyler, Texas. The faculty, staff, and seminarians of Holy
Trinity Seminary join with the faithful of the Diocese of Tyler in asking God
to bless their new bishop.
