The 2012 Seminarian Welcome Dinner was held on Saturday at the InterContinental Hotel in Dallas. Seminarians in formation at Holy Trinity Seminary in Irving and Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Dallas were honored by the attendees who represented parishes, dioceses, Serra Clubs, Knights of Columbus councils, Young Catholic Professionals, numerous Catholic schools, parents, families, and many other supporters of vocations. The seminarians performed a hymn and were introduced individually by diocese. Bishop Kevin Farrell, Bishop of the Diocese of Dallas, was overseas visiting a sister diocese in Honduras. However, he made a surprise visit via recorded video, expressing his appreciation to the attendees for their continued support of vocations and Holy Trinity Seminary. The highlight of the evening was the keynote address given my Bishop Kevin Vann, who is leaving the Diocese of Fort Worth to be installed as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Orange County, CA in December.
